Yes, books were sold, but a highlight of the evening for author Randy Safford was talking with folks about his stories—while surrounded by “history.” Here, Randy and a local were comparing notes about nearby Cheat Lake, its Ices Ferry from years back, and George Washington’s time in the area. Randy lives out of state, but he and family ventured out on a road trip to visit areas where his family had roots in West Virginia. Jason Burns, Morgantown Museum Director, in the photo with Randy’s wife and son, was delighted to have the museum and this talented author, participate in the month’s First Friday for the Arts, which is put on by The Arts Council of Greater Morgantown and Main Street Morgantown.
