Tess Casher has spoken with a stutter all her life. When she first started working with us, she said, “This is the book I wanted to read when I was eight years old, but it didn’t exist.” Now that Sleuths in Skates is completed, it’s starting to reach young readers; in addition to being stocked in select bookstores, the Yukon Department of Education has bought classroom sets and is working with Tess to develop discussion questions for use in schools.
