Sadly, the author of Whelps, Varmints, and Urchins had passed away before the book project could begin, but he’d made it clear to his wife, Linda, how much he wanted his stories turned into a real book that could be enjoyed by others—especially, other “pre-Sputnik-era kids.” Here’s Linda proudly showing off the softcover edition.
