Scotts Run historian Lou Birurakis had no shortage of stories and pictures to potentially include in his memoir! He has been documenting his life and community for years, but there were some gaps that needed to be filled. With the help of his daughter and a local college student who interviewed Lou, we were able help him turn his collection of stories into a cohesive “life story” for his family.
The author had a firm deadline for his memoir: his early spring 100th birthday! When his books were completed just before Christmas—three months early—he sent two of his adult children to pick them up. It is always special to see the completion of a project coincide with holiday or personal celebrations.
