Populore author Lee Kikel keeps quite booked for events where she can talk about her father’s story and their book about his experiences growing up in Poland, life in the Lodz ghetto, surviving Nazi camps, the long road to recovery, and eventually establishing a business and starting a family in Pittsburgh. Lee has given talks at libraries, museums, synagogues, and even led a discussion with prisoners over Zoom. She has especially enjoyed sharing her story with young people in classrooms, and teachers have been very grateful for the classroom materials she had us prepare. Recently we completed a third unit of material, based on excerpts from the book, for use as lesson plans or discussion guides.
Lee’s lesson plans can be found here.
