Populore co-owner Rae Jean Sielen launched her summer fun by attending the West Virginia Writers annual summer conference in Ripley, West Virginia. The long weekend was jam-packed with wonderful workshops, helpful info, tips, and insights. Especially interesting: “Publishing Options: What They Are, Aren’t, and Shouldn’t Be” (panel), “Becoming an Indie Publisher—Doing It Right,” and “The Landscape of Publishing Memoir & Narrative Nonfiction.” All of this, in a beautiful setting, including an often-photographed covered bridge. If you’re in the state and not already a member of WV Writers, consider joining. The benefits are many and the members are the kindest and most talented bunch of folks around.
