Former West Virginia University law school professor Jim Elkins recently completed his newest book, which chronicles his longtime fascination with lawyer poets—i.e., lawyers who write poetry and poets who practice law. Through the years, Elkins has brought the wisdom and insights of lawyer poets to his classroom, and has collected the names of well over 1,000 American lawyer poets (included in the appendix).

When he was picking up his completed books, he asked, “I’ve got another book almost done—would you help me with that one, too?” Music to our ears!
